Give a cultural and educational touch to your child’s next birthday party. Plan an Around the World children’s birthday party for a great idea your child and his or her friends will love.

Getting dressed up and playing games are what children love to do best. With an Around the World party, your kids can play imaginative games and dress up in the costume of their choice!

Start with the invitations. You can get really creative here and enlist the help of your child to create the invitations from scratch. Find world maps on construction paper and you can place a small piece of white construction on top with all of the party information. If you want the children to dress from a country of their choosing, be sure to put that suggestion on the invitation!

If you don’t want your attendees to worry about finding costumes from the country of their choice, you can plan to have a box of costume supplies for when they walk in the door. Choose from such simple items as cowboy hats to Indian headdresses, traditional costumes from Russia, Sweden, Mexico, China – the list goes on and on! As each child comes in the door, they can select the costume pieces they want to wear for the afternoon.

What can you do for games during your Around the World party?

Depending on the age of the children, you can teach everyone origami to make an array of shapes in colorful paper. Let the children ‘fly’ to another country and enjoy a game that represents that country. Have them dance to jazz music playing Hot Potato during their flight to New Orleans. Bang a piñata filled with candy during a ‘flight’ to Mexico. Go to Hawaii to do the limbo and wear lei’s. Search for the leprechaun’s gold in Ireland. You can come up with a variety of different games for the children to play during your Around the World children’s party.

Feed the children sample foods from around the world to have them taste new dishes. Put out the tasty beignets of New Orleans or sample Chinese food. Try pasta or pizza from Italy and ‘fish and chips’ from England. For the birthday cake, you can shape a large sheet cake and draw the world on top of it.

With an Around the World party, your child and his or her friends are sure to have a wonderful time with plenty of exciting, international adventures!

Give your child one of the most original parties ever when you plan a party based on the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. An instant childhood classic for generations, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory features every child’s dreamland of candy, chocolate and magical treats.

The Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory kid’s birthday party is a great idea for both boys and girls in a range of ages. You can find a number of games and decorations that will create the ideal Willy Wonka environment for nonstop fun!

Buy a number of chocolate bars to send out as invitations. You and your child can tie a piece of yellow construction paper to the chocolate bar with all of the party information just like the children do in the movie. You can even put Golden Ticket at the top of the invitation!

Decorations can make the room look like Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. Put candy on the table for decorations. Look for large lollipops that are rainbow colored and bright. Tie these with colorful ribbons and later, they can be used as party favors. Dangle gum drops from the ceiling on fishing wire for a unique candy-filled environment.

The birthday cake for a Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory party can mimic the special room of this magical world. Get a sheet cake and make a chocolate river on top with chocolate pudding. Take small lollipops to line the chocolate river and other candies around the rest of the cake top.

What games can you play with your Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory kid’s birthday party? Go on a Gobstopper Hunt. Wrap the largest jawbreakers you can find in plastic wrap and tell the children that Mr. Slugworth has hidden all of the jawbreakers and you need their help! Limit the search to one area for best party fun.

Make candy necklaces with fishing line, gummy bears, marshmallows, gum drops, popcorn and more. This arts-and-crafts fun will be an instant hit with the kids! Finally, you can play ‘Hot Potato’ with a large ‘golden egg’ that you can pass around until the music stops. Play with blowing bubbles like the scene where Charlie and his grandfather drink the Fizzy Drink and float to the ceiling!

Enjoy a Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory party for your children and have candy-filled fun all afternoon long!

Little kids love to play imaginative games and when you have a birthday party that taps into their imagination, you are sure to have a smashing success. There are a number of different options that you can have with your child’s birthday party theme, but an old favorite for both children and adults is the cowboy or cowgirl birthday party.

If your child loves the country or just adores horses, you can throw a cowboy/cowgirl themed birthday party that will have everyone entertained and happy for hours.

Start with the decorations. Depending on where you live, you can find haystack blocks that make great outdoor decorations. Be prepared for some children to want to sit and jump off of them, so keep an eye on them throughout the party. From there, you can hang pictures of horseshoes, straw and checkered tablecloths on the table to give the feel of a barn and cowboy/cowgirl atmosphere. Find a piñata made of a cowboy boot for an extra special touch at the end of the party.

Invitations can be made out of construction paper. Find the shape of a horseshoe and cut out yellow shapes from construction paper, writing the party information on the edges. What about a large cowboy hat picture with the information written on the brim? You and your child can make these invitations together.

When each child arrives, you can give them a bandana and cowboy hat to get them in the mood of the theme. Now, it’s time for the fun cowboy and cowgirl games!

Playing ‘Pin the Tail on the Horse,’ ‘Badge on the Sheriff’ or ‘Cowboy Hat on the Kid’ are all great options. Make a challenging obstacle course outside that is age-appropriate for a number of children in case some of your guests bring their other siblings along to enjoy the fun. You can have the children race on pony stick around hay stacks, over obstacles and more.

Pair the children up in sets of two and tie two of their legs together for a Three-Legged race around a barrel. Hide toys like small toy horses in a pile of hay and have the children dive in to search for them. Give the kids water guns and have a water gun fight or if you want things more controlled, have them aim at a tin can for a shoot-off.

You can find a number of ideas and decorations for your cowboy/cowgirl party for a great success and tons of fun!

One of the trickiest parts about throwing a birthday party is finding a theme that not only appeals to your child, but will keep all of the kids entertained for a few hours.

Want a great kid’s birthday party theme that will keep everyone entertained and happy? Look for a Lego themed party! Boys and girls of all ages love Lego pieces and these charming pieces will appeal to your child’s imagination.

Watch as your child builds huge structures with his or her friends for plenty of fun. And one of the best parts with a Lego party is all the fun you can have with decorating and keeping in theme throughout the party.

For invitations, buy some of the big Lego pieces that are typically for younger children. On the side of the pieces, you can tape a fold-out birthday party invitation for the kids, presenting a unique invitation your child can help to make.

Look for candy stores that sell Lego shaped candy in bulk. You can buy large bags of these candies and sprinkle them on the tables or hand them out as goody bag treats in the end!

For older kids, you can purchase the kits that will keep them entertained and you can let them take the kits home as a great take-away treat. Most of these kits only cost a few dollars with several different designs in one kit. If you have younger children, purchase the bigger Legos and make a theme with the Legos. For example, have the children build a big fire station and hand out small fire helmets. Suggest the children to build a large castle and find cheap swords for knights and princess caps for the little girls for hours of fun with the kids.

What about the cake and decorations? Making the cake can be a lot of fun. There are Lego models out there to build brightly-colored cakes in different Lego shapes. You can ice them in bright reds, blues and yellows. Look for Lego cake-toppers as well for the final touch.

Decorations should be as bright as the theme. You can cover shoe boxes and other different shaped boxes with bright construction paper to simulate large Legos. Build some Lego pieces ahead of the party and use these as centerpieces on the dinner table and other spots around the house for a one-of-a-kind look.

If your child loves animals – and many toddlers can't get enough of them – you should consider having a birthday theme of farm or barnyard animals for your next birthday party!

If your child loves animals – and many toddlers can’t get enough of them – you should consider having a birthday theme of farm or barnyard animals for your next birthday party! There are a number of cute ideas you can try if you are planning a barnyard themed birthday party.

Invitations for your child’s farm animal party can be absolutely adorable. Look for pictures of cows, ducks or pigs to cut out and use paste to stick the pictures to light brown construction paper, which you can then write the details of the party on. Search for animal stickers that your child can place on the invitation.

Decorations are easy. Look for animal puppets and stuffed animals, hanging and placing them throughout the party room. Look for balloons with animals as well. Find a large cardboard box and paint it red as a ‘barn’ for the children to play in since all young children love to have a small house for imaginative stories.

As each child arrives, give them each an animal they prefer. You might want to have multiple cows, chickens and sheep since you might find two or three children who absolutely want to have a cow! Look for face paint to paint whiskers or spots on the children for a special touch.

Old MacDonald has lost his animals and you need the children to find them! If you are looking for party games that fit the theme of your birthday party, hide a few stuffed animals in a room and explain to the children that Old MacDonald has lost his animals and needs their help to return them to the barn. Hide stuffed animals both high and low for the children to search for!

If your children are old enough, you can have them play with animal cookie cutters and play doh to make their favorite animals. If they aren’t old enough for arts & crafts, look for bubbles. You can find spill-proof bottles and wands or have the adults blow the bubbles, while playing music and allowing the children to catch them and pop them to their delight.

The cake for your birthday farm theme can be a simple sheet cake with green and brown frosting and small Playmobil or Fisher Price animal toys on top. For a great party favor, look to give your children’s friends their own small stuffed animal to remember the party by!

One of the best birthday parties are those that are planned ahead - and planned for the worst! If you are planning a happy and exciting outdoor birthday party in the backyard, local park, by the water or other location outside, be sure to have a back-up plan by planning some indoor birthday games.

What if you wake up on the day of the big birthday party festivities and there are dark, threatening clouds on the horizon? If you have been planning a sunny day in the park with your child’s best friends, rain is suddenly your worst enemy. It pays to plan ahead!

If it rains, you will need a big, open area to play games with your kid and his or her friends. If you have a garage, you can back the car out and put down old towels, followed by blankets and pillows in an effort to give the children a safer, open place to play. From there, you can plot a few hours of activities and indoor games for rainy days that will make your birthday party one of the best. Try some of these indoor birthday games:

- Balloon Stomp - Blow up a number of balloons and tie a rubber hand on the end of each one. From there, tie the rubber bands to the ankles of the kids and play music. Have the kids try to step on each other’s balloons while protecting their own. The child with the last balloon on their ankle wins!

- Sock Grab - have two children compete against each other at a time. Have a large bucket of socks in between them. Have both children sit on the floor near the bucket and blindfold them. On your count, give them a minute to put on as many socks on their feet as they can. The child with the most socks wins!

- Wrapping Toilet Paper - This classic indoor birthday party pairs two children together. One is the statue while the other kid wraps the ’statue’ with toilet paper. The first child to wrap their partner completely with no body parts showing wins!

Knowing some indoor birthday games ahead of time will help you plan an exciting and thrilling birthday party for kids. The best party you can have is one filled with a lot of imagination.

Get the kids in the right mood when you send out birthday party invitations. Whether you have a boy or girl, toddler or ‘big kid’, children’s birthday invitations are a lot of fun and a great way to tell everybody the theme and mood of your party.Look for unique and interesting invitation ideas. You can find a number of ways to make birthday party invitations yourself and enjoy a personal touch that a store-bought invite simply cannot copy.

For a First Birthday, take advantage of the momentous last year of ‘firsts’. Find pictures of their first crawl, their first bite of solid foods and more to piece together for a collage invitation that will have everyone ‘ooh’-ing and ‘ahh’-ing. Another cute idea is to paint the bottom of their feet with washable paint to slap on a piece of white paper. Once it dries, write the party information within the colorful footprints on paper and send it off to the guests for a one-of-a-kind invitation unlike any other.

Build pop-up cards with cut out pictures from magazines that your child has cut out. Each invitation will have a different look and you can make a great art adventure with your birthday invitations this way. Rather than just buying the store-bought variety, having your child cut out favorite pictures gives a much more personal (and fun!) way to invite his or her guests to the party.

Find more artistic ideas that will fit the theme of your party. Having a jungle party? Why not draw a large tree and have a monkey made out of popsicle sticks and toothpicks hanging from a branch for a 3D look that the guests will love to see and touch? If you plan on having a magician at your party, cut out a top hat from black construction paper with a slit near the bottom of the hat and hide a white bunny on the backside with its tail sticking out. Let the guests pull the tail to pull out the bunny (pulling the rabbit out of the hat) to read the information on the invitation!

There are a number of cute ideas that you can make for your children’s birthday party invitations. Be sure that you consider the age-appropriateness of the child when you get your ideas together. And best of all, have your child make them for an exciting time spent together.

Find some interesting and innovative birthday party favors for your child’s birthday party and leave the kids on a happy note!

Think organic and safe treats for the kids. Why wire them up on sugar when you can give them all-natural honey sticks shaped like bears or if you have younger children, Winnie-the-Pooh? If you have older children, give them a treat that will fascinate them with lollipops surrounding a bug like a worm or grasshopper.

Look for mini treasure trove boxes that you can fill with favors that fit the theme of the party – or just have healthy or delicious treats inside. If you have a jungle party, fill the boxes with animal crackers. For a princess party, you can fill it with plastic beaded necklaces and feathers (age appropriate, of course). For a fire engine themed party, you can find small plastic squirt-guns shaped like fire trucks and stickers to fill in the treasure trove box. Kids love a treasure hunt and having the birthday favors in this box will be an instant hit.

Why not encourage reading with your children’s friends? Every parent should be reading to their child each night and a new book is always cause for excitement. You can find the same book that matches the theme of your party to give out as party favors, which are an excellent way to keep everybody happy – and reading!

Bubbles are another fun way to get kids outside and having a good time long after the party is over. The trickiest thing about bubbles is keeping the lids on the bottles until the children are outside, but after that, these favors can be an inexpensive and fun addition to any party favors bag.

Finally, inspire their creative sides by giving Color Wonder coloring books and markers instead of cheap plastic toys and the usual candy. With these coloring books, they can’t mark on the carpet and can spend hours dreaming up new creations from their imagination to the page. Parents will love the practical gifts that keep their children happy and busy for hours.

Think outside the usual birthday favors to give your children’s friends an exciting and practical toy that will get both their imaginations and brains moving long after the fun-filled party is over!

When your little girl is a toddler, throwing a birthday party for her can be incredibly exciting. After all, you are watching her grow up and she is really coming into her personality. A birthday party for a toddler girl can be a lot of fun because the child will be so thrilled that it’s her special day.

Birthday party themes for toddler girls can be centered around their favorite things. Look for princess themes or an underwater theme with fish and bubbles. Jungle theme ideas are wonderful, too, since you can give the children animal crackers and big pictures of animals. Or point to the animals and having the children make the sound the animals make. There really is nothing cuter than a group of toddlers saying ‘moooooo!’ together.

Color parties are also fun. Have the guests show up in the child’s favorite color and give them chalk to play with on the sidewalk or driveway outside. Coloring books and markers can be a great choice if it’s raining or cold outside, while colorful cupcakes in rainbow-colored ice cream cones will be a hit!

Other toddler girl birthday party theme ideas include:

- Animal farm
- Blue’s Clues
- Care Bears
- Lady Bug
- Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
- Sesame Street

Remember that your two-year-old is just learning how to be social and could be easily overwhelmed with a number of guests and activities. If you have around three to eight guests, you should be just right, depending on how familiar the child is with the guests. You will have to keep an eye on your toddler girl to remind her how to share and play.

Birthday activities for a toddler girl’s birthday party can be a lot of fun. Kids love to play dress up, so try to find some fun clothes handy for them to try on hats, big shirts and more. Keep an eye on balloons, if you bounce them around the children since a burst balloon noise might scare them and you will need to remove the pieces quickly before they end up in mouths!

Find noisy instruments like horns and blowers to excite them, but be sure to give the same thing to everyone since toddlers are still learning sharing. A bouncy castle can be a great choice for toddlers who can roam and bounce around without getting hurt. Of course, you can’t have too many kids in there and definitely don’t mix bigger children with your toddlers as the big kids might accidentally push the little ones around or crash into them, causing tears and mild chaos.

Pick a great birthday theme for your toddler girl, plan a number of these events for hours of fun and the birthday party is sure to become a great hit and adventure for your little girl.
