Favorite Birthday Theme Ideas - Farm Animal - Barnyard Parties
If your child loves animals – and many toddlers can’t get enough of them – you should consider having a birthday theme of farm or barnyard animals for your next birthday party! There are a number of cute ideas you can try if you are planning a barnyard themed birthday party.
Invitations for your child’s farm animal party can be absolutely adorable. Look for pictures of cows, ducks or pigs to cut out and use paste to stick the pictures to light brown construction paper, which you can then write the details of the party on. Search for animal stickers that your child can place on the invitation.
Decorations are easy. Look for animal puppets and stuffed animals, hanging and placing them throughout the party room. Look for balloons with animals as well. Find a large cardboard box and paint it red as a ‘barn’ for the children to play in since all young children love to have a small house for imaginative stories.
As each child arrives, give them each an animal they prefer. You might want to have multiple cows, chickens and sheep since you might find two or three children who absolutely want to have a cow! Look for face paint to paint whiskers or spots on the children for a special touch.

If your children are old enough, you can have them play with animal cookie cutters and play doh to make their favorite animals. If they aren’t old enough for arts & crafts, look for bubbles. You can find spill-proof bottles and wands or have the adults blow the bubbles, while playing music and allowing the children to catch them and pop them to their delight.
The cake for your birthday farm theme can be a simple sheet cake with green and brown frosting and small Playmobil or Fisher Price animal toys on top. For a great party favor, look to give your children’s friends their own small stuffed animal to remember the party by!
