What does your little 4- to 6-year-old girl love to do? Incorporate her favorite things with a precious birthday idea that all of her friends - and parents - will truly enjoy. You can find a number of great birthday themes and ideas to choose from. Here are some of the most popular birthday themes for girls, including:

- Aquarium Party
- Beach Party
- Barbie Party
- Ice Skating Party
- Jungle Party
- Ladybug Party
- Cinderella Party
- Butterfly Party
- Dance Party
- Disney Princess Party
- Strawberry Shortcake
- Tea Party
- Playdoh Party
- Princess Party
- Wizard of Oz Party

Of course, the possibilities for more girls birthday party themes are endless and limited only to your child’s imagination. Ask her what she would like to do for her birthday party or what theme she would like to have. Preferably, you will offer two or three suggestions for her to choose from that are within budget (and within reason!)

Once everyone arrives to your party location, you will need to have plenty of things for everyone to do! In fact, the best parties are those where the parent has over-planned the activities and games that can be played. Plan to have both indoor and outdoor games, in case there needs to be a change in location.

Here are some great games to keep all the kids happy:

Back-to-back Balloon Pop: assign the kids to stand in sets of two, back-to-back with one another. Put a balloon in between the childrens’ backs and have them try to squeeze closer to each other until they can pop their balloon. Have the game continue until all of the balloons are popped.

Duck, Duck, Goose - the classic favorite: have all of the children sit in a circle. Choose one child to walk around tapping everyone lightly on the head, saying ‘duck’ each time. On a random person, the child will yell ‘GOOSE!’ and that person has to get up and chase the child around the circle. The child needs to make it back to the empty spot before the ‘Goose’ tags them. If the Goose tags him or her, the child has to start over again.

Simon Says, another classic favorite: have all of the children line up in a single line, facing an adult. At random times, the adult will say ‘Simon Says…’ accompanied by a command like ‘touch your toes’ or ‘touch your knees.’ Randomly, the adult will only say ‘TOUCH YOUR KNEES!’ without the ‘Simon says’ beforehand. If any child still touches their knees, everyone can look at them and yell ‘SIMON DIDN’T SAY!’ and laugh, starting the game over again.

Pick one of these great birthday party themes for girls, plan a number of these events for hours of fun and happy children and your girls birthday party is sure to become a great party for everyone involved!
